چکیده

pistacia atlantica subsp. mutica is one of the most valuable forest tree species in iran that has been severely exploited for a long time. therefore, understanding the genetic diversity of different populations can be an important step towards the development and restoration of the habitat of this invaluable tree species. in this study, in order to study the genetic diversity, 10 populations including 59 genotypes via 13 rapd primers, totally 97 alleles were generated with an average of 7.46 alleles per primer that 100% alleles were polymorphic. polymorphic information content (pic) varied from 0.11 (primer oligo342) to 0.21 (primer oligo18). marker index criterion ranged from 0.39 (primer oligo203) to 4.35 (primer oligo342). abdanan population indicated the highest value of polymorphic alleles (57.73 %) and shannon’s index (0.251) and the highest value of unbiased expected heterozygosity index (0.172) was observed for the banaeh population. whereas the lowest value of polymorphic alleles (13.40 %), unbiased expected heterozygosity (0.074) and shannon’s index (0.081) were observed for out of zagros population. analysis of molecular variance (amova) showed that a larger proportion of genetic variation (78%) belonged to intra-populations, while 22% of genetic variation was observed for inter-populations. cluster analysis could not completely separate samples and showed the lack of association between molecular diversity and geographic diversity populations. the genetic diversity among the evaluated samples can be promising for restoring the habitats of p. atlantica.

Genetic diversity of Iranian melon cultigens revealed by AFLP markers

Iran is a part of the secondary centre of origin of melons, and therefore, there is a wealth of genetic variation of these species in this country. The Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) marker was applied to investigate the genetic variations among five major Iranian melon cultigens (Cucumis melo) and ‘Ananasi’ as a general well-known cultivar. Ten primer pairs were used on 90 indiv...

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Iranian tulips revealed by EST-SSR and NBS-LRR Markers

The genus Tulipa L. (Liliaceae) comprises about 100 species and Iran is considered as one of the main origins of tulips. In this research, genetic diversity and population structure of 27 wild populations of tulips collected from Iran were studied by 15 highly polymorphic and reproducible expressed sequenced tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers and 8 nucleotide binding site (NBS)-enzyme...

A high genetic diversity revealed between commercial rose cultivars by RAPD-PCR technique

Genetic diversity between fifteen commercial cultivars of rose were evaluated, using Ten decamer primers (A-J). All primers detected polymorphism among the cultivars. In total, 126 bands were produced, 73 of which were polymorphic. Primers E and F produced the highest, while primer H produced the lowest number of bands. The percentage of polymorphic bands ranged from 37% to 81% with an average ...

Evaluation of Genetic Diversity in Iranian Violet (Viola spp) Populations Using Morphological and RAPD Molecular Markers

Recognition of genetic reserves and desirable genes is the basis of breeding programs. So far, in Iran, due to the lack of recognition of genetic resources, a considerable breeding program has not been done on native plants. The study of the genetic diversity of violets as a native plant with ornamental and medicinal uses is the great importance in advancing the breeding goals of this plant. So...

Evaluation of Genetic Diversity among Some Common Fig Using RAPD and ISSR Molecular Markers

The common fig (Ficus carica L.), one of the most important fruit species, belongs to Moraceae family and is widely distributed in Iran. In this study, genetic variations among some genotypes of common fig collected from six different regions of Ilam province (Iran) were evaluated based on RAPD and ISSR markers. A total of 73 and 29 alleles were produced by 14 RAPD (with their sizes ranging fro...

Genetic Diversity of Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Genotypes Using RAPD and ISSR Molecular Markers

The importance of grain cultivation especially wheat is obvious in terms of providing human and animal food and its impact on the economy of human societies. The reduction of genetic diversity in cultivars prevents increasing yields in line with rising demand and consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the compatibility of them and increase their genetic extent. In the current, the g...
